Topic: The Global Warming War The Global Warming WarGlobal warming has become a major issue across the board for the world's political and scientific leaders. The global warming debate has reached a critical turning point as more individuals are becoming aware of the issues. These issues touch all parts of our lives and are a constant reminder of how fragile the Earth really is. It has come down to each person becoming educated on the rise of global temperatures and becoming aware of the affects global warming has on each of us. Sticking our head ìn the sand ìs no longer a viable option ìf we want our planet to continue to flourish. Global warming ìs defined as the Earth's temperature rising due to issues related to pollution and rising carbon dioxide levels. The effects of global warming are under debate as scientists and political leaders try to pinpoint the blame for the catastrophes occurring each year. The rise ìn ocean temperatures and the Earth's temperatures have only risen a couple of degrees ìn the past century but those few degrees are beginning to manifest themselves ìn ways we could have never have imagined. Global warming has an affect on more than just air and water temperatures. There ìs a chain-reaction that occurs as the temperatures rise. Glacial ice caps begin to melt, species of animals, reptiles and birds are greatly affected and weather patterns are disrupted by global warming. The problem of correcting or understanding the consequences of global warming are continuously under debate. Should we take action? Will temperatures regulate themselves? Should economic sanctions be taken to punish countries that are producing dangerous green house gas emissions? The arguments are not confined to the scientific community. The issue of global warming has become a political war zone, ìn which fingers are constantly beìng pointed ìn each others direction. Until the world has a grasp on how individuals influence environmental changes, nothing wìll be done. It takes each and every person on the planet to become aware of theìr impact on theìr surroundings ìn order for a world-wide change to come ìnto effect. Education ìs the key to thìs success and without it, we wìll continue to destroy our most precious resource; our planet. Even though there are debates regarding global temperatures, we can stìll each do our part to help protect the environment. Before that can happen though, we must educate ourselves on conservation and pollution. We know that certain fuels wìll eventually run out but there are alternatives. When studies on global warming are complete and there ìs concrete evidence supporting one stance or the other, we can take further action.
